Yea, so I got laid off (definitely the trend these days) and was forced to move back in with my parents. It sucks for obvious reasons, but the good/difficult news is that I basically get to decide whether I go back to school for Web developement, or find a full time job down in the seattle area and FINALLY move out of this tiny ass town.
On a much lighter note, I finally broke down and bought a used 18-55

I know it's not the most amazing piece of glass ever and certainly not the ultra wide I still VERY much want, but it's certainly a relief breaking free from my 28-80mm prison. I haven't taken too many pics with it, but it seems like a really good copy. Best part is that I got it for 80 bucks and the lady threw in a UV filter. In other lens news, my dad has always had this old Nikon FE film camera with a solid metal 50mm f/1.8 lens mounted on it and I was always curious if it would work on my camera.....it does! And it still takes some pretty nice pics

Obviously the auto focus and metering don't work, but it's quite sharp, even at 1.8 and certainly opens up some creative options. Since I'm living here for the time being I will definitely be taking that out every once in awhile.
That's all for now. Expect MANY sexy car pics from the recent nissan meet I went to in the near future
